All in one ac unit freezing up?

I live in a Manufactured home and its a 3.5 ton unit all in one package outside. I went out yesterday and came home and the thermo said 86 in the house. I went outside and seen the copper tube coming from the compressor was like a block of ice. I went under the house to see if the duct might have collapse due to an animal but nothing was collapsed. I shut it off all night and turned it on this morning and it was running fine. The system hit the 79 degrees I set it at and when it recycled to start up again nothing came out of the vent and the outside unit started freezing up. I again shut it off for a few minutes and now it is running. Any ideas what could be the problem before getting a service tech? I have 3 kids in the house and its going to be 97 degrees today.
