Why did we as kids get scared so easily?

I think because television was so new to many of the seniors here, we believed anything we saw on tv or at the movie theaters for that matter. Oh yeah, I kept my head under the covers many a night when I thought 'The Blob' was going to ooze under my bedroom door, some ugly monster was under my bed, or Dracula was going to fly into my window. lol
