How to get rid of the boogie man thats in my kids closet?

My kid said theres a monster in their closet and i dont know how to get rid of it. My kid says that i should leave it open but when i do he says the monsters still there? They said that the monster was SUPER DUPER SCARY!!!!!!!! I dont know if i want to face this monster. What do i do?
